I was an athlete my whole life and have been consistently resistance training since I was fifteen years old. My interest in health and fitness began when my dad and I would obsess over bodybuilding.com and read all of their magazines, online articles and training plans! I absolutely loved learning about fitness and trying different training modalities to find what I enjoyed the most!
I started by trying any type of training session I could get my hands on, whether that was a circuit style workout from Pinterest, Dana Linn Bailey’s training plan, bodybuilding.com workouts, anything!
I then began teaching my mom how to work out and that’s when I knew this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life - educate people on working out and help them discover their strongest, most confident self.
I went to The University of Akron to major in Exercise Science: Strength & Conditioning. While I was there, I decided to hire a coach to help me see a different perspective with training as well as to help educate me on how to train properly according to my goals. I can honestly say that that was by far the best decision I could have made; I would have never been able to make the progress I made without a coach pushing and educating me (shoutout to Alex Bush at Physique Development). He taught me that health and fitness isn’t about working out for hours on end and always craving your next meal – health and fitness is about fueling your body and feeling confident in your own skin! After my amazing experience with an online coach, I decided that becoming an online coach would be an amazing opportunity to help reach people all over and I knew that I wanted to be that support system for others and help them reach their goals!
Prior to graduation, I had the privilege of doing an internship at a Sports Performance Facility that taught me SO MUCH. I am so thankful for all of the knowledge and experience that I was able to gain while interning there. After graduating college with my Bachelor’s degree, I got a job as a Sports Performance Coach and Personal Trainer at the same place that I did my internship at. I was able to work with athletes 8-21 years old and individuals 16-70 years old, with various experience levels. My experience of working with diverse individuals helped teach me how to analyze movement patterns and provide individualized cues that work best for them.
